This four-class series will cover the history and the fundamental aspects of Ashtanga Yoga. This powerful approach is based on a specialized sequencing of postures and focused breathing techniques. The first three sessions will be spent breaking down postures (asanas) and practicing vinyasas; skillfully working up to the fourth class where we pull it all together and work through the entire primary series. Total workshop time will be 6 hours:
Session 1 (90 mins)- Ashtanga basics and asana practice
Session 2 (75 mins)- Asana practice
Session 3 (75 mins)- Asana practice
Session 4 (120 mins)- Primary Series
Participants are encouraged to attend all sessions in order to get the most benefit from the workshop. However, individual sessions are available if that works better for you. Students that enroll for all sessions will receive a full color Primary Series poster (100 poses) as a learning aid for their practice.
